Our self-described “numbers guy”, Joe started his career at Dixon Hughes Goodman in Charlotte as an auditor for clients in the real estate and construction industries. From there, he spent over 15 years with two real estate developers as their CFO, gaining expert knowledge of real estate finance, human resources and construction management accounting. In 2012 Joe founded his own company, MJ Consulting, which specializes in providing homebuilders and developers with CFO services on a contract basis. Altogether, Joe brings 25 years of experience in the real estate industry with broad knowledge of finance, accounting, operations and financial management. Joe is ethical, steady, driven, and an effective leader who strives to lead by example with all of his clients and colleagues.
I have always been drawn to Homebuilding for its creativity. A home is a work of art when completed. From an finance and accounting perspective, I love how the numbers paint a picture and also tell their own story.

Loves the outdoors and supporting the community
Joe earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bethany College in the Pittsburgh area. He’s married to his best friend, Lori and they have three perfect, beautiful daughters. Joe enjoys family time, especially outdoors. Working in the yard is never a chore – in an alternate life, he’d be a Landscape Architect! Joe teaches financial counseling to young married couples, served as Treasurer for a private Christian school, and currently is Treasurer for the non-profit, Hope for India.
