5 Ways to Enjoy your Custom Outdoor Fireplace

The glow of orange embers, the earthy scent of campfire, the laughter of family and friends…  This isn’t some faraway weekend camping expedition — this scene is yours to enjoy every evening when you design an outdoor fireplace that’s built right into your own backyard deck or patio.

While winter highs in Charlotte are mild compared to the rest of the country, the brisk lows make for perfect weather to gather and make memories around a comforting, crackling fire.

At Copper Builders, we’re a big believer in indoor/outdoor living, so we design fireplaces that make your decks and patios just as comfortable and livable as your interior spaces. Sometimes, simply moving your routine activities outdoors around a comforting fire makes them feel special and new. Here are a few suggestions!

Best Ways to Enjoy Your Outdoor Fireplace

1) Turn your deck or patio into an outdoor living room

Turn up the comfort factor and select a few plush couches or settees, a soft outdoor rug, pillows for lounging, and lots of cozy blankets for after-dinner drinks and conversation around the fire. This time of year (and all year, really), we promise your outdoor living room will get just as much use as your indoor space (if not more).

2) Make s’mores (and memories) with the kids

The little ones will LOVE making their own desserts, and you’ll love making sweet memories, around the fire in the comfort and safety of your own yard. What was once only an occasional camping experience can be an everyday treat at home. Grab a couple of blankets and cups of hot cocoa and bring game night or even bedtime stories outdoors.

3) Take in a movie

Maximize the concept of taking the indoors out with a wall-mounted flatscreen above the mantle. Movie night under the stars with popcorn and a blazing fire is the ultimate in outdoor luxury.

4) Create a cozy pet retreat

Some pups love to be outside no matter what. Why not give them a cozy spot to curl up where they can be warm AND watch out for squirrels? Add an elevated pet bed and a favorite toy, and you may not be able to convince your furry friend to come inside.

5) Dine outdoors in elegance

The natural landscapes in and around Charlotte are among the most beautiful in the country. Create an unforgettable dining experience surrounded by beauty with formal dinnerware, candles, a seasonal tablescape, and of course, the best accessory of all, a mesmerizing outdoor fire.

However you choose to dress up your outdoor space with a custom, built-in fireplace, it’s sure to be a highlight of your new home in the Charlotte area. We can’t think of a better way to enjoy the great outdoors than right in your own backyard.
